Cristina & Nelson

Engagement Dec 16/06

Nelson sent me on a bit of a scavenger hunt for the proposal.  He had me go to his friend's house in Toronto to supposedly look at some furniture he was getting rid of....when I got there, there was no furniture.  There was a package for me that had me believing that Nelson was going to buy a car.  He had a little toy mustang with a fake key on it.  I thought ...great.  It was cute because every stop I made there was a bit of a riddle.  He left a camera so that I could take pics along the way.

The second stop I had to go to his brother's house where there was another clue...he made me a CD with all car related songs on it.  Things like Low Rider, Mustang Sally, but the odd love song in between.  I started to think  "he can't be proposing" .  I hadn't even had a shower!  We were suppose to go to my sister's bday that night.

Next I had to go to my best friend's house in Oakville.  That is when I got suspicious because my sister's car was there.  When I got there my sister was video taping my entry.  I asked what was going on but no one said a thing.  Another riddle awaited me and a little toy lego car.  Nelson wanted me to meet him at my parents next so that we could supposedly go to the dealership because he felt we needed to make important decisions together.

When I arrived at my parents place I was obviously thinking...Oh my God, is this really happening???I was so excited.  I got there and Nelson had a bouquet of roses and a nice box from a pottery studio with 2 people on it and the ring inside. My sister caught the whole proposal on video.  I was speechless but so happy.  My family then toasted us with champange.  Nelson got me good and it was just as creative as I knew he would be.  Later he had a lego hosue for me that his brother built for him.  The ring was supposed to be inside the garage but it didn't fit.

It was the happiest day of my life!  I said "yes" of course!

Us

Here is a collection of pics we've taken together at some point or another.  We are definitely not camera shy.

Engagement Proofs

We got our engagement pics done in Dundas at an old Grist Mill.  We had so much fun and loved Colin's work.  Enjoy them.

Showers

I was lucky enough to have 3 fabulous showers.  One was given by my mom and mother in law, the second by my colleagues and the third by my bridesmaids and Maid of Honor
